Submission Guidelines

DiddleDog defines flash as being a story told in less than 1000 words.
Almost any genre is acceptable, excluding erotica or porn. We are also not excited by fantasy or speculative fiction, unless it's outrageously clever. We cater to the mature adult reader. Stories for children or young teens will not be considered.
Send one story at a time in an email that has Submission as the subject line.
Paste the story as plain text into the body of the email. Be sure to head the story with a title and the author's name. We prefer an author name that is not simply a 'handle' or 'username'. We will ignore attachments. We don't have MS Word.
Include a short, third-person author bio.
Send to submissions@ our domain name (diddledog.com) - No spaces.
Payment: None, but we'll love you.
Reprints: We'll accept reprints if the author assures us he/she retains all rights to the story. Let us know where it has appeared.
Simultaneous Submissions: Not encouraged, but understandable. Let us know if you're currently shopping your story elsewhere.
Multiple Submissions: Okay. Each in its own email, please.
A story published by DiddleDog remains the exclusive property of the original author. Stories will remain on this site indefinitely. If an author wishes his/her story to be removed, we will honor the request as quickly as possible. We reserve the right to remove a story without notice.
